A video shows protesters throwing cement bricks at cops on Saturday during the \u201cNo Kings\u201d rally in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The video \u2014 shared by Andy Ngo, a conservative media influencer \u2014 shows two men wearing masks, one of whom was carrying the flag of Mexico, breaking a large cement pole into smaller pieces and hurling it at LAPD officers who were controlling the crowd in front of the detention center<\/a> near the federal building.<\/p>\n

The unrest in Los Angeles was part of a series of nationwide demonstrations. The LAPD issued a citywide tactical alert at 5 p.m. due to \u201cincidents occurring on Alameda between Aliso and Temple,\u201d near the federal Metropolitan Detention Center. <\/p>\n

About 200 people headed to the site to taunt officers, violently shaking metal gates set up to protect the complex and shouting profanities at officers.<\/p>\n

Videos from the scene in Los Angeles also showed protesters waving Palestinian and other flags while throwing objects toward Department of Homeland Security agents.<\/p>\n

DHS personnel deployed tear gas as LAPD officers in riot gear arrived to control the situation. Protesters resisted arrests, creating chaotic scenes in the streets outside the detention center.<\/p>\n

Police arrested 70 people in relation to the protests yesterday. It is unclear if the duo in the video were among those arrested.<\/p>\n

LAPD also reported that rocks were thrown at officers, leaving several with minor injuries while taking people into custody.<\/p>\n

As of Sunday morning, no updates on charges or identifications have been released. Los Angeles police said they are still working to confirm the total number of arrests<\/p>\n

By early Sunday, cops said nine juveniles were arrested for refusing to disperse \u2014 but all were quickly released back into their parents\u2019 custody according to ABC7<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Organizers behind the nationwide \u201cNo Kings\u201d movement are claiming a massive turnout<\/a>, calling Saturday the \u201clargest single-day nonviolent protest in modern American history.\u201d They say at least 8 million people flooded more than 3,300 rallies spanning all 50 states.<\/p>\n

From coast to coast, demonstrators took aim at President Donald Trump, blasting his policies, soaring living costs, and the ongoing war with Iran, as crowds packed streets in a sweeping show of dissent.<\/p>\n

Celebrities and public figures, including actor Robert De Niro and state Attorney General Letitia James, were reportedly present at various rallies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The No Kings rally is a recurring, nationwide protest movement in the US, with major demonstrations occurring in June 2025, October 2025, and a third, larger wave in March 2026.<\/p>\n
