SUNRISE, Fla.\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager\u00a0Bill Zito\u00a0announced today that the club has agreed to terms with goaltender\u00a0Tyler\u00a0Muszelik\u00a0on a two-year, entry-level contract\u00a0commencing\u00a0with the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n
\u201cTyler\u00a0is a talented and\u00a0hard-working goaltender who has displayed\u00a0strong growth and poise\u00a0throughout\u00a0his four seasons in college hockey,\u201d said Zito. \u201cWe are excited for him\u00a0to begin his professional career within our organization\u00a0and Goaltending Excellence Department.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Muszelik,\u00a021,\u00a0posted a 19-11-5 record with the University of Connecticut (NCAA) in 2025-26, registering a .926 save percentage and 2.21 goals against average leading the Huskies to their second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.\u00a0He ranked fifth in the nation in\u00a0save\u00a0percentage among goaltenders with at least 30 appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound native of Long Valley, N.J.,\u00a0skated in four NCAA seasons between the University of Connecticut (2024-25 to 2025-26) and the University of New Hampshire (2022-23 to 2023-24),\u00a0logging a cumulative 40-27-10 record, .911 save percentage and 2.51 goals against average over 78 total appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Prior to his collegiate career, he spent two seasons (2020-21 to 2021-22) with the U.S. National Team Development Program, producing a\u00a015-13-4 record over\u00a034 USHL games.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the international stage,\u00a0Muszelik\u00a0earned a silver medal\u00a0representing\u00a0the United States at the\u00a02022 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship,\u00a0recording a 2-0-0 record, .909 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Muszelik\u00a0was originally selected by Florida in the sixth round (189th\u00a0overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n
