Oilers injury update: Trent Frederic and Colton Dach are \u2018very close\u2019 to lineup return<\/p>\n
Kris Knoblauch spoke<\/a> to the media on Monday after practice and gave a rough timeline on the return of two injured forwards: Trent Frederic and Colton Dach.\u00a0He said they are both \u201cvery close.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWhether it\u2019s Thursday, Saturday, or the following game. That\u2019s the timeline for both of them,\u201d said Knoblauch.\u00a0<\/p>\n Frederic has missed the last four games with an undisclosed injury after leaving in the second period against the Florida Panthers on March 19.\u00a0<\/p>\n His game had been trending in a positive direction post-Olympics, appearing faster, while also making more puck plays. After a notoriously slow start to the season, Frederic\u2019s scored<\/a> four goals and six points in 2025-26. He signed an eight-year contract extension last off-season with a no-move clause.<\/p>\n Trent Frederic won’t play tomorrow. Not cleared to play yet. Could return Thursday v. Chicago. #Oilers<\/a><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Colton Dach<\/a> has been out of the lineup for a bit longer. He left the game against the Colorado Avalanche on March 10, re-aggravating a previous injury he\u2019d sustained as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dach skated on Monday at practice. He\u2019s played two and a half games since being acquired, alongside Jason Dickinson, in exchange for Andrew Mangiapane and a first-round pick.\u00a0He\u2019s scored three goals and 10 points on the season. His last goal, however, was on November 30.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dach would need to be activated off of long-term injured reserve.<\/p>\n Overall, Edmonton has been on the mend in terms of injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Oilers saw the return of Curtis Lazar to the lineup on Saturday<\/a>, playing 9:09 of ice-time with one shot on goal. Lazar missed almost a month of action, going down against Ottawa on March 3. <\/p>\n He\u2019s suited up for 39 games with the Oilers this season, scoring twice and putting up five points.\u00a0Lazar seems to make an impact when in the lineup.
