The rugged defenseman, who ended <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/player\/auston-matthews\/\" class=\"player\" title=\"View Auston Matthews&#039;s stats, bio, and status\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Auston Matthews<\/a>\u2018 season after a dirty knee-on-knee hit earlier in the month, wanted to play against the Toronto Maple Leafs to <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/2026\/03\/30\/radko-gudas-leafs-rematch-stand-behind-mistakes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cstand behind my own mistakes. I want to address it myself.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And address it he did.<\/p>\n<p>Leafs head coach Craig Berube gave Gudas a buffet of pugilists to pick from during the opening faceoff, icing <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/player\/michael-pezzetta\/\" class=\"player\" title=\"View Michael Pezzetta&#039;s stats, bio, and status\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Pezzetta<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/player\/max-domi\/\" class=\"player\" title=\"View Max Domi&#039;s stats, bio, and status\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Max Domi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/player\/dakota-joshua\/\" class=\"player\" title=\"View Dakota Joshua&#039;s stats, bio, and status\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dakota Joshua<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/player\/simon-benoit\/\" class=\"player\" title=\"View Simon Benoit&#039;s stats, bio, and status\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Simon Benoit<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/russianmachineneverbreaks.com\/player\/brandon-carlo\/\" class=\"player\" title=\"View Brandon Carlo&#039;s stats, bio, and status\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brandon Carlo<\/a>, who combined had over 40 regular-season fights in their careers.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Maple Leafs start Michael Pezzetta, Max Domi, Dakota Joshua, Simon Benoit and Brandon Carlo in Anaheim.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a let&#8217;s-fight-off-the-draw choice.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 luke fox (@lukefoxjukebox) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lukefoxjukebox\/status\/2038796869015408973?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 31, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gudas ended up dropping the gloves with Domi, a veteran of 15 career bouts, three seconds into the game.<\/p>\n<p>An inspired Domi landed 10 consecutive punches, including a final sucker punch while Gudas was down on the ice, to the win the bout decisively.<\/p>\n<p>Despite absorbing all that punishment, Gudas looked absolutely no worse for wear in the penalty box as several of his teammates went over to salute him. Meanwhile, Domi taunted the Ducks\u2019 bench before being sent to his room.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the first period of the Ducks-Leafs featured 22 penalty minutes, 24 hits, and two Leafs crashing into each other as they tried to go for a big hit.<\/p>\n<p>Now hopefully these two teams can simmer down and play some hockey.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Radko Gudas suited up for the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night despite not being 100 percent healthy.
