The Montreal Canadiens<\/a> announced on Tuesday that defenceman Alexandre Carrier<\/a> will miss two-to-four weeks due to an upper-body injury. <\/p>\n

Defenceman Adam Engstrom<\/a> was recalled from the AHL\u2019s Laval Rocket on Monday. <\/p>\n

Carrier, 29, has scored seven goals with 22 points in 73 games with the Canadiens this season while averaging 19:05 of ice time.<\/p>\n

He last played in Sunday\u2019s 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> where he had 19:05 of ice time. <\/p>\n

A fourth-round pick (115th overall) by the Nashville Predators<\/a> in the 2015 NHL Draft, he was acquired by the Canadiens on Dec. 18, 2024 in exchange for defenceman Justin Barron<\/a>. <\/p>\n

He is in the second season of a three-year, $11.25 million contract with an AAV of $3.75 million. <\/p>\n

The Quebec City, Que., native has skated in 369 career NHL games, scoring 20 goals with 109 points split between the Predators and Canadiens. <\/p>\n
