(KQDS-TV)- The first domino of the off-season for the UMD men&#8217;s hockey team has fallen.<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s a big one as starting goaltender Adam Gajan is making the jump to the pros.<\/p>\n<p>Gajan and the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to a two-year, entry-level contract that runs through the 2027-2028 season.<\/p>\n<p>Just this past year, the Slovakian posted career highs in games played, wins, save percentage, goals against average, and lastly shutouts.<\/p>\n<p>Gajan was also named NCHC Goaltender of the Month in October and helped UMD get to their first NCAA tournament since the 2022 season.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago originally drafted Gajan in the 2nd round of the 2023 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>Connect with Us<\/p>\n<p>Want to Share Something with Our Team?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"DULUTH, Minn.
