The husband of Minnesota Wild reporter Jessi Hinrichs (Pierce) is asking for privacy after Hinrichs and the couple\u2019s three children died in a house fire<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The White Bear Lake Fire Department released a statement<\/a> on Wednesday, March 25 about Jessi Hinrichs and her three children — Hudson Hinrichs, Cayden Hinrichs and Avery Hinrichs — dying in a house fire.<\/p>\n

The statement included a message from Hinrichs\u2019 husband, Mike Hinrichs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with profound sadness that we are able to confirm the identity of the four victims of the devastating house fire that occurred on March 21, 2026, at the 2100 block of Richard Avenue,\u201d the statement said<\/a> in part.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been in close contact with Mike to support him, his family, and his friends. He has asked us to share his request for privacy while he grieves and the rest of his family and friends navigate this unimaginable time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jessi Hinrichs (Pierce) covered the Minnesota Wild for NHL.com and was a contributor to the site for the past 10 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire National Hockey League family sends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pierce family on the passing of Jessi Pierce and her three young children,\u201d the NHL said in a statement. \u201cJessi loved our game and was a valued member of the NHL.com team for a decade. We will miss her terribly.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> Fox 9 Minnesota-St. Paul, the White Bear Lake Fire Department responded to a reported fire just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21.<\/p>\n

Firefighters found Jessi, her three children and a dog dead at the scene. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are absolutely heartbroken and devastated by the death of our coworker and friend Jessi Pierce, as well as her three kids, Hudson, Cayden and Avery,\u201d Phil Mackey posted<\/a> on X. \u201cJessi was a joy to be around and work with. … Jessi was just the best. We all loved her.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thinking of Jessi\u2019s husband Mike and everyone who was in her orbit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Minnesota Wild also released a statement<\/a> following the tragedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Minnesota Wild organization is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Jessi Pierce and her children,\u201d the statement said. \u201cJessi was a kind, compassionate person that cared deeply about her family and those around her. She served as a dedicated ambassador for the game of hockey during her time covering the Wild and the NHL.<\/p>\n

\u201cJessi and her children will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to their family, friends, and all who knew and loved them.\u201d<\/p>\n
