So let\u2019s check in on the Kraken for a minute.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s about how it feels, anyway.<\/p>\n
After a bone-shattering loss to the Oilers, the Kraken\u2019s window for potentially making the playoffs feels like it slammed shut as loud and as hard as it could without breaking the glass. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Utah Mammoth have kinda been chuggin\u2019 along at their place in the first wildcard spot. Not really changing much; going through some losses but mostly getting wins and being a solid team that trades wins and losses with little real care as to being caught. It\u2019s not like the rest of the West is doing a great job making their case for the final spot in the Wildcard anyhow.<\/p>\n
So how do you beat the Mammoth, anyway?<\/p>\n
Well, Utah\u2019s goaltending is slightly above average, but still only just above average. Forcing the Mammoth goaltending corps to be the hero is often an adventure, and it should be one that the Kraken try to force as much as possible. Further, the Mammoth are a team that emphasize speed and mobility quite a bit, and that has left them in a weird place where their special teams are perhaps worse than they should be? Their PK is almost league average, and so the Kraken need to take advantage.<\/p>\n
Really, the one thing the Kraken need to do is just start the game well. Their last couple of contests have been sank by a bad opening 20 minutes and they absolutely need to button that up. Even if they aren\u2019t going to make the playoffs, for god\u2019s sake could you just make it look like you play the same level of sport from the outset?<\/p>\n
Do it for the audience, if nothing else.<\/p>\n
