RALEIGH, N.C. – Forward\u00a0Andrei Svechnikov\u00a0will try to extend his goal streak to three games on Thursday when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Columbus Blue Jackets.<\/p>\n
Scoring on Sunday against Montreal and on Tuesday at Nationwide Arena, his 27 goals this season trail only Seth Jarvis (30) on the team. His current career-best is 30, which came during the 2021-22 season.<\/p>\n
Jarvis, meanwhile, enters the fray with two goals and seven assists dating back to the team’s win over Pittsburgh on Mar. 18.<\/p>\n
Captain Jordan Staal will also skate in his 1,400th career game. He will become just the sixth active player to hit the milestone, and the 46th all-time.<\/p>\n
On the back end,\u00a0Frederik Andersen\u00a0was between the pipes to start the day. Looking to get back on track after a pair of tough results against the Montreal Canadiens, the veteran is 13-3-3 in 19 career games against the Blue Jackets.<\/p>\n
