In a move that no one saw coming, Hughes was shipped to the Minnesota Wild. Since then, the former Norris trophy winner has proved that he can thrive anywhere, getting 49 points across 45 games to get his fifth 60-assist season in a row<\/a>.<\/p>\n But now his latest game brings him to a collision course against the very team that made him into the superstar he is today. The Wild will welcome the Canucks at the Grand Casino Arena. Nobody knows Vancouver better than the D-man, having played 459 games for them. So when Hughes was asked about the significance of the matchup, he admitted the significance of the moment. He suggested the full weight of the year, including the trade, the Olympics, and the playoff push, would only sink in once summer arrived and there was time to look back.<\/p>\n Hughes Leaves Lasting Legacy in Vancouver<\/p>\n Hughes was drafted seventh overall by the Canucks in 2018 and became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer among defensemen, surpassing Alexander Edler’s record of 409 points in October.
