{"id":537775,"date":"2026-04-03T03:21:56","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T03:21:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/537775\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T03:21:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T03:21:56","slug":"south-carolina-stingrays-hockey-loses-to-orlando-solar-bears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/537775\/","title":{"rendered":"South Carolina Stingrays hockey loses to Orlando Solar Bears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stingrayshockey.com\/news\/2026\/04\/south-carolina-shut-out-by-orlando-4-0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">South Carolina Stingrays<\/a> fell 4-0 in the first of back-to-back games with the Orlando Solar Bears on April 2 at the Kia Center.<\/p>\n<p>Orlando (26-35-4-1) was awarded a power play early in the first and capitalized. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eliteprospects.com\/player\/102225\/jarid-lukosevicius\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jarid Lukosevicius<\/a> opened the scoring with 6:23 left to give the Solar Bears a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>South Carolina (41-21-1-3) could not find an answer after Lukosevicius\u2019 opener, and Orlando added to its lead in the final minutes of the period. Xavier Lapointe doubled the Solar Bears\u2019 advantage with 4:45 remaining in the first.<\/p>\n<p>In the second period, the Solar Bears continued to build on their lead. Lukosevicius scored his second of the night with 8:10 to go in the middle frame before Massimo Lombardi made it 4-0 with 1:27 left in the period.<\/p>\n<p>The Stingrays went to goaltender <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stingrayshockey.com\/news\/2025\/12\/stingrays-add-goaltender-ty-taylor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ty Taylor<\/a> at the start of the third period. The netminder played well in relief of Alexis Gravel, turning aside all 13 shots he faced in the final 20 minutes.
