If we’re talking consecutive games, they haven’t lost more than two in a row since their four-game losing streak to end January. Despite that, the Flyers are still 3-2-0 over the last 5, and 6-3–1 over the last 10.

The Islanders have also lost back-to-back games. They are 2-3-0 over the last 5 and 5-5-0 over the last 10. The Islanders are currently fighting off the Blue Jackets and Flyers to hold on to the third spot in the Metropolitan.

Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. EST at UBS Arena. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Read More: Flyers Suffer Crushing Loss for Playoff Hopes vs. Red Wings on Thursday

Flyers lines & pairs @ Islanders

Forwards

Tyson Foerster–Trevor Zegras–Owen Tippett
Travis Konecny–Christian Dvorak–Porter Martone
Alex Bump–Noah Cates–Matvei Michkov
Sean Couturier–Luke Glendening–Carl Grundstrom

Defensemen

Travis Sanheim–Rasmus Ristolainen
Cam York–Jamie Drysdale
Nick Seeler–Emil Andrae

Goaltenders

Dan Vladar
Sam Ersson

Special Teams
PP1: Ristolainen, Dvorak, Zegras, Foerster, Konecny
PP2: Drysdale, Cates, Tippett, Martone, Michkov

PK1: Cates, Couturier, York, Sanheim
PK 2: Dvorak, Tippett, Seeler, Ristolainen

Read More: Flyers Postgame Blog: Impressive Effort Overshadowed by Costly Mistakes

Game Notes

Thursday’s loss may have avoided the worst-case scenario, but it set up Friday’s game to be a must-win to keep the postseason dream alive. For all intents and purposes, this game is the game in hand on the Blue Jackets, and a chance for the Flyers to get within one point of the third spot in the Metro while holding onto a game in hand on the Islanders.

A win keeps the playoff hope alive, while a loss could be pretty damning. Per MoneyPuck, a regulation loss drops their playoff odds to 5.1%. A regulation win puts the back at 26.5%.

Dan Vladar should be back in goal for the Flyers after Sam Ersson got the start on Thursday. Philly is going to need him to be his best — the Dan Vladar from earlier this season.

Alex Bump should draw into the lineup, and without a morning skate, I’d expect him to take Denver Barkey’s spot on the third line. Bump had missed the last two games because of the forward surplus, but it’s his turn in the rotation. Tocchet has emphasized that Bump is not being held out because of his play. Rather, it’s the surplus, and it’s hard to take players out when they’re playing well.

Barkey did not have a very good game on Thursday, so I expect him to come out. It wasn’t just him, however. The whole line of him, Noah Cates, and Matvei Michkov struggled on Thursday. Assuming they add Bump, I am looking for them to really have a good game, because they need it.

The Islanders allow the 5th fewest goals per game. That’s because Ilya Sorokin is a damn good goalie, but even David Rittich has been great this year. The Flyers will have to be on point on Friday if they want a chance to win.

How to Watch Flyers @ Islanders

TV: NBC Sports Philadelphia+, NHL Network
Radio: 93.3 WMMR

Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. EST at UBS Arena on Long Island.

Read More: Flyers Add More Firepower With Exciting Winger Returning from Injury

It’s a fast turnaround for the Philadelphia Flyers (37-26-12) after their Thursday loss, who travel to Long Island…

[5110
36308,17561,54227,5,36214,122,3328,159,5190,5189,4,56
0":"post-538609","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york-islanders","8":"tag-flyers-game","9":"tag-flyers-lines","10":"tag-flyers-starting-goalie","11":"tag-hockey","12":"tag-how-to-watch-flyers-game","13":"tag-islanders","14":"tag-new-york","15":"tag-new-york-islanders","16":"tag-newyork","17":"tag-newyorkislanders","18":"tag-nhl","19":"tag-philadelphia-flyers
["GET
