Hockey star Jack Hughes finally had his teeth fixed after several were broken in the gold-medal game at the 2026 Winter Olympics<\/p>\n

Hughes debuted his new smile while warming up to throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium<\/p>\n

The New Jersey Devils star previously said he was having trouble finding time to see a dentist<\/p>\n

U.S. men’s hockey star Jack Hughes<\/a> debuted his new smile after his teeth were broken at the Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n

Hughes, 24, alongside Aerin Frankel of the U.S. women’s team, threw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium before the Yankees’ first home game of the season on Friday, April 3.<\/p>\n

The New Jersey Devils star was all smiles at the game, showing off his new pearly whites after over a month with broken teeth from the U.S.’s gold medal-winning game at the 2026 Milan Games. Hughes’ bloodied mouth became an instantly iconic moment at the Olympics, after the NHL star took a stick to the mouth from a player on Team Canada just a few minutes before winning the game \u2014 and the U.S.’s first gold since 1980 \u2014 with his overtime goal.<\/p>\n

Hughes had told Jimmy Fallon<\/a> in February that he would get his teeth as soon as possible, after the host asked the NHL star if he planned on making the broken teeth “his thing.” Hughes replied, during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, that “I can promise you this won’t be my thing.”<\/a><\/p>\n

The hockey star explained to Fallon that it was tough to find time for the dental work in between celebrating the gold medal and playing for the Devils.<\/p>\n

At the Yankees game on Friday, Hughes told NJ.com he’s “a big Yankees fan” and shared, “I always come to games in the summer.”<\/p>\n

Hughes said he was especially thrilled to be throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium on the team’s opening day of the season. “And then Opening Day, wow. This is almost too much, that’s a lot of pressure! But too much fun, and that’s for both of us,” he told NJ.com, alongside Frankel.<\/p>\n

Hughes also said he’s been practicing for the moment for weeks, per the outlet. \u201cMy trainer brought gloves and I threw like 50 pitches right before morning skate, and my shoulder was so sore,\u201d Hughes said. \u201cI was like, \u2018We\u2019ve got to cool it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
