The Flyers put 34 shots on goal in Thursday\u2019s 4-2 loss to Detroit and sit two points behind Ottawa for the second wild card.<\/p>\n

New York (42-29-5, 89 points) has its own problems. The Islanders have lost two straight and have scored more than three goals just once in their last 11 games. Ilya Sorokin has allowed 10 goals on 61 combined shots over his last two starts. <\/p>\n

My Flyers vs Islanders prediction is the over. The over has hit in seven of New York\u2019s last nine home games against opponents with a losing record and four of the Islanders\u2019 last five overall. Philadelphia mirrors that trend, with the over cashing in four of its last five and three of its last four on the road.<\/p>\n

Sorokin is confirmed, but his .836 save percentage over two starts is a far cry from his season-long .909 mark. Dan Vladar is the likely starter for Philly with a solid .904 save percentage and 2.50 GAA, though he hasn\u2019t recorded a shutout all year. Neither netminder is in a position to keep this game low-scoring.<\/p>\n
