{"id":539597,"date":"2026-04-04T02:35:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T02:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/539597\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T02:35:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T02:35:32","slug":"daily-bean-bruins-lose-eastern-conference-standings-leafs-eliminated-from-playoffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/539597\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Bean: Bruins Lose, Eastern Conference Standings, Leafs Eliminated from Playoffs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They cannot win them all, but the Bruins overlooked last night\u2019s opponent and suffered a 2-1 loss to open their four-game road trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Bruins allowed two goals on the Panthers\u2019 first five shots, scored one near the end of the first period, but could not catch the Florida lead. Both goalies showed up, with Jeremy Swayman stopping the final 19 Panthers shots, and Sergei Bobrovsky making 15 third-period saves.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Around the league, the Bruins did not get much help. At the same time, the Bruins are sitting comfortably in the first wild card spot, four points behind the Canadiens, who won yesterday, and six points ahead of the Senators, Red Wings, and Blue Jackets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Maple Leafs and Rangers have been bounced from playoff contention, while the Hurricanes and Wild clinched their spot. The Canucks will finish with the worst record in the NHL.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There were 14 games yesterday, only two today. The Bruins have both minor league affiliates and some prospects in action tonight. <\/p>\n<p>Also, the Hobey Baker Finalists were announced yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Friday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today\u2019s Daily Bean:<\/p>\n<p>Boston Bruins<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026-04-02-bruins-snap-four-game-win-streak-lose-panthers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BRUINS LOSE<\/a>: The <a href=\"http:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Bruins<\/a> (43-24-8) fell 2-1 to the <a href=\"http:\/\/floridahockeynow.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Panthers<\/a> (36-35-3) at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, FL, on Thursday night. Fraser Minten scored with 26.7 seconds left in the first period, but the Panthers\u2019 two goals in the first eight minutes was the difference.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026-04-03-bruins-we-didnt-respect-our-opponent-breaking-apart-loss-florida\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BREAK APART<\/a>: Marco Sturm said that the Bruins \u201cdidn\u2019t respect\u201d the Panthers last night, overlooked their injuries, and ended up playing from behind. They snapped both a four-game win streak and a seven-game road point streak. It was the Bruins\u2019 first regulation road loss since March 5. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bosotnbruins.com\/mobileapp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TD GARDEN APP<\/a>: The Bruins announced an update to the TD Garden app today.
