While on the field, he chatted with Martha Stewart as well:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Hughes scored the winning goal to bring Team USA its first gold medal in men&#8217;s hockey since the &#8220;Miracle on Ice&#8221; squad in 1980. A lot of doors <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nhl\/story\/_\/id\/48280406\/nhl-2025-26-olympics-team-usa-jack-hughes-gold-medal-goal-puck-controversy\">opened up<\/a> in the aftermath of that triumph. When everything went down, this was the one thing I was wondering if it would happen.
