It’s the third and final matchup of the 2025-26 regular season between the two teams.

The Kraken have bested the Blackhawks in both meetings so far this year, winning 3-1 at home on Nov. 3 and 3-2 at the United Center on Nov. 20. Andre Burakovsky, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Teuvo Teravainen have provided the three goals for Chicago in the two games. Jamie Oleksiak, Matty Beniers, Jordan Eberle, Tye Kartye, Shane Wright, and Jaden Schwartz have tallied the six goals for Seattle. Joey Daccord has recorded the win in net in both games, stopping a combined 51 of 54 shots faced.

Last time out, the Blackhawks opened up their road trip with a 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Thursday. Nick Lardis, who suffered a left-hand injury in the final moments of the third period, was the lone goal scorer for Chicago. Adam Henrique, Matt Savoie (PP), and Vasily Podkolzin (EN) scored the goals for Edmonton. With the loss, the Blackhawks were officially eliminated from playoff contention.

The Kraken are coming off a 6-2 home loss to the Utah Mammoth on Thursday and have lost 11 of their last 15 games since the beginning of March. Eberle and Bobby McMann both scored in the first 14 minutes to put Seattle ahead 2-0 early, only for the Mammoth to come roaring back with six unanswered goals.

A horrendous stretch since returning from the Olympic break has all but knocked the Kraken out of the playoff running at this point. With 75 points through 74 games, Seattle is only four points back of the San Jose Sharks for the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, but there are four teams still ahead of them. Eight games remain on their schedule, and they might have to win all of them to have a chance.

Here’s everything else to note before the puck drops at 9:00 p.m. CT in Seattle.

Blackhawks Projected Lineup

Forward Lines

Ryan Greene — Connor Bedard — Frank Nazar

Tyler Bertuzzi — Anton Frondell — Nick Lardis

Andre Burakovsky — Ryan Donato — Ilya Mikheyev

Teuvo Teravainen — Sacha Boisvert — Landon Slaggert

Defensive Pairings

Alex Vlasic-Sam Rinzel

Wyatt Kaiser-Louis Crevier

Kevin Korchinski-Ethan Del Mastro

Scratched

F — Sam Lafferty, F — Dominic Toninato

Injured

D — Matt Grzelcyk (undisclosed), D — Artyom Levshunov (hand), F — Andrew Mangiapane (undisclosed), F — Oliver Moore (lower body)

***

Nick Lardis is expected to play for the Blackhawks after getting injured late in Thursday’s loss to Edmonton.
