We have some action within the Montreal Canadiens organization, on defense.<\/p>\n

The Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Lions continue to actively strengthen their defensive corps as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.<\/p>\n

The Mauricie-based team, affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens, has officially announced the signing of left-handed defenseman Kale McCallum.<\/p>\n

A new name arriving in the organization that we could possibly see at the next training camp this coming fall!<\/p>\n

Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, this defenseman already has a r\u00e9sum\u00e9 well known to junior hockey fans, having played in the QMJHL with the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Val-d’Or Foreurs.<\/p>\n

At the junior level, he also totaled an impressive 127 points in 184 games, even leading the league in assists among defensemen (50) during the 2020-2021 season.<\/p>\n

A defenseman with a very promising profile.<\/p>\n

Kale McCallum brings proven offensive production to the Canadiens organization<\/p>\n

During his time in Canadian university hockey, with the University of New Brunswick (UNB), McCallum kept the momentum going.<\/p>\n

In just 67 USports games, he recorded 89 points, giving him an average of 1.33 points per game along with a +72 rating.<\/p>\n

His outstanding performances also earned him U SPORTS Defenceman of the Year honours in 2023-24.<\/p>\n

The following year, he was logically named to the first all-star team, as he led all defensemen in goals scored.<\/p>\n

In addition to piling up individual honors, McCallum is a winner, having helped his team capture the Canadian championship twice.<\/p>\n

This season, he made the jump to the competitive Hockey East division of the NCAA with Providence College, recording 14 points in 31 games to help his team finish first in the regular season standings.<\/p>\n

He really has an interesting profile!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth noting that McCallum has already participated in the New York Rangers training camp, of course in the National Hockey League.<\/p>\n
