{"id":545441,"date":"2026-04-07T12:13:38","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T12:13:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/545441\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T12:13:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T12:13:38","slug":"marlies-sign-maple-leaf-prospects-tyler-hopkins-harry-nansi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/545441\/","title":{"rendered":"Marlies sign Maple Leaf prospects Tyler Hopkins, Harry Nansi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Article content<\/p>\n<p>A couple of Maple Leafs prospects are getting a shot with the Toronto Marlies.<\/p>\n<p>Article content<\/p>\n<p>The Marlies announced on Monday that they\u2019ve signed forwards Tyler Hopkins and Harry Nansi to amateur tryouts for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n<p>Article content<\/p>\n<p>The Ontario Hockey League season for both players recently ended, as Hopkins and the Guelph Storm were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Windsor Spitfires, while Nansi and the Owen Sound Attack were also taken out in four games by the Flint Firebirds.<\/p>\n<p>Both players were drafted by the Leafs in 2025 \u2014 Hopkins in the third round, 86th overall, and Nansi in the fifth round, 153rd overall.<\/p>\n<p>A 19-year-old native of Campbellville, Ont., Hopkins, a centre, had 50 points (25 goals and 25 assists) in 56 games with Guelph and the Kingston Frontenacs. He had two goals in the first round against Windsor.<\/p>\n<p>Article content<\/p>\n<p>Nansi, an 18-year-old native of Nepean, Ont., had 56 points (13 goals and 43 assists) in 67 games. For the right winger, it was a solid improvement from 2024-25, when he had 23 points in 67 games for the Attack. Nansi didn\u2019t record a point in the first round against Flint, which outscored Owen Sound 35-3 in four games.<\/p>\n<p>With two weeks remaining in their regular season, the Marlies have hit a skid, losing each of their past four games in regulation.
