The Boston Bruins<\/a> have had a tough go of things to round out the regular season. Just when it looked like the Bruins were getting hot at the right time — winning six out of seven against strong competition to end March — Boston is winless in April, dropping three straight.<\/p>\n

Last time out, the Bruins tried to shake things up on the lineup card. Head coach Marco Sturm went back to putting struggling star center Morgan Geekie on the top line with captain David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha.<\/p>\n

The move did not pay off as the Bruins were once again held to just one goal in an overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Sturm spoke to reporters after the game<\/a> about the decision to put Geekie on the first line.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just didn\u2019t like the way it went a little bit the last few games with David (Pastrnak) and the young kids,\u201d Strum said. \u201cAnd also, we needed to get Geeks going. I think that was the biggest point.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve played together and\u2026 this is the time now. This is the time to show up, and I wanted to give them another shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the Olympic break, Geekie was one of the top scorers in the entire NHL. He had 11 goals in November alone, recording 41 points in the first 41 games of the season.<\/p>\n

However, since returning, it has been an uphill battle for Geekie in the stat sheet. He has not scored a goal in 17 games, and he has just one point in the last seven. The frustration reached a tipping point against the Flyers when Geekie had a shot blocked out of play and slammed his stick into the boards so hard the head broke off.<\/p>\n

Boston had a lengthy rest and will be back in action on Tuesday night with a huge road test against the first-place Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh.<\/p>\n
