And then I woke up, and my eye kind of closed on me,&#8221; Skinner said. &#8220;I went and saw the eye doctor, and he said that there&#8217;s no chance I can play. But even just waking up in the morning, I was hoping that I was going to be able to ice it and get the swelling down so that I could see, but it just didn&#8217;t end up working that way.&#8221;VIDEO: Ashley Liotus speaks with Stuart Skinner after injurySkinner said he is lucky the puck did not hit him directly in the eye. Tuesday marked his first skate since the injury, and he noted that the swelling has gone down.&#8221;I felt great,&#8221; Skinner said. &#8220;I felt like I had 100%, vision, eyes moving well. I can see in my peripheral. Did some two-on-ones and tested that out. So yeah, everything feels really good.&#8221;Skinner did not know if he would be cleared to play Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils.&#8221;We&#8217;re kind of taking it just one skate at a time, one day at a time, so all we&#8217;re really focused on right now is me going to see the guys after this and talking about how I felt.
