A Michigan State star is heading home for his next stop of hockey in the pros.<\/p>\n
Spartans senior forward Charlie Stramel has signed a three-year, entry-level contract<\/a> with the Minnesota Wild, which will officially begin for the 2026-27 season. Stramel is originally from Rosemount, Minn., and will be returning for his home state team at the next level.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Stramel was selected by the Wild in the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n Stramel starred for the Spartans in his two years, with the program after transferring from Wisconsin. He recorded 29 goals and 42 assists during his two years at Michigan State, and especially shinned this past season as a senior with 47 points (22 goals and 25 assists). He was a Hobey Baker Award Top Ten Finalist and First Team All-B1G selection this past season.<\/p>\n Stramel is one of many Spartans moving onto the NHL or minor league professional hockey following the conclusion of the Michigan State season.
