{"id":548228,"date":"2026-04-08T23:18:41","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T23:18:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/548228\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T23:18:41","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T23:18:41","slug":"boston-bruins-sign-top-draft-pick-james-hagens-to-three-year-entry-level-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/548228\/","title":{"rendered":"Boston Bruins sign top draft pick James Hagens to three-year entry-level contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/boston-bruins\/6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/boston-bruins\/6\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Bruins<\/a> have signed forward James Hagens to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The contract carries an average annual value of $975,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Hagens, 19, was selected with the seventh overall pick of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, and spent this season playing with the Boston College Eagles in NCAA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Hagens recorded 23 goals and 47 points in 34 games with Boston College before the team was eliminated in the second round of the Hockey East tournament.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Bruins subsequently signed Hagens to an amateur tryout agreement with the Providence Bruins of the AHL, where he appeared in six games and recorded one goal and four points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Hagens represented the United States at the World Juniors in each of the past two tournament, helping them win gold in 2025 before a fifth-place finish in this year\u2019s tournament.
