Being left out is never an easy pill to swallow for a proud competitor, especially for a veteran who has his team\u2019s logo tattooed on his heart.<\/p>\n

However, number 11 did not act like the vast majority of NHL players in that situation.<\/p>\n

According to fascinating information shared by journalist Priyanta Emrith on X, Gallagher simply refused to go up and join the other scratched players (as well as members of the media) in the press gallery at the Bell Centre.<\/p>\n

Brendan Gallagher\u2019s locker-room choice showed his Canadiens leadership<\/p>\n

Rather than isolating himself in the upper levels of the arena, Gallagher made the decision to stay downstairs, where the heart of the team beats, and to watch the game directly from the team\u2019s locker room!<\/p>\n

“Of note, when he’s been made a healthy scratch, Brendan Gallagher watched those games from down in the Habs dressing room instead of sitting up in the press box.”<\/p>\n

This gesture, which may seem insignificant from the outside, actually says a great deal about Gallagher\u2019s attitude, commitment, and dedication.<\/p>\n

Even when he can\u2019t lace up his skates to battle in the corners, he is determined to remain in the immediate circle of his teammates.<\/p>\n

By staying in the locker room, he ensures that he is present during intermissions to encourage the group, offer advice to the younger players, and make his presence felt.<\/p>\n

That is exactly the mark of a true leader who puts the collective good above his ego or personal disappointment.<\/p>\n

It also perfectly supports his recent comments regarding his role within the group:<\/p>\n

“I’m comfortable with what I bring to this group. If my number is called, I know I can contribute. If not, you be a good team-mate and that’s it.”<\/p>\n
