{"id":549953,"date":"2026-04-11T01:42:27","date_gmt":"2026-04-11T01:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/549953\/"},"modified":"2026-04-11T01:42:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T01:42:27","slug":"james-hagens-named-a-first-team-all-american","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/549953\/","title":{"rendered":"James Hagens Named a First Team All-American"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAS VEGAS\u00a0\u2013 Boston College sophomore forward <a href=\"https:\/\/bceagles.com\/sports\/mens-ice-hockey\/roster\/james-hagens\/26366\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"26366\" target=\"_blank\">James Hagens<\/a> was named a First Team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Friday evening.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThis marks the third-straight season in which an Eagle has earned First Team All-America honors, following <a href=\"https:\/\/bceagles.com\/sports\/mens-ice-hockey\/roster\/jacob-fowler\/25299\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"25299\" target=\"_blank\">Jacob Fowler<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bceagles.com\/sports\/mens-ice-hockey\/roster\/ryan-leonard\/25307\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"25307\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Leonard<\/a> in 2025, and Cutter Gauthier, Will Smith and Fowler in 2024.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Hauppauge, New York native finished 2025-26 as Boston College&#8217;s leading scorer with 47 points on 23 goals and 24 assists, while also leading the league in points and goals. He was named a Hobey Baker Top 10 Finalist following the conclusion of the regular season after sitting fifth in the country for goals and seventh in points per game.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn league play, Hagens finished with 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists, earning Hockey East First Team All-Star honors along with earning the Three Stars Award and finishing as the league&#8217;s scoring champion.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHagens ended the season on a 14-game point streak, totaling 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists. During that stretch, he was named the Beanpot MVP following a five-point performance across the two games to help the Eagles earn their 21st Beanpot title and first since 2016.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFollowing the end of the season, Hagens signed an ATO with the Providence Bruins on March 23.
