BUFFALO, N.Y. \u2014 Although the Buffalo Sabres<\/a> didn\u2019t have a game on Friday, Sabres Forward Alex Tuch kept himself busy.<\/p>\n

Donation to Sisters of Charity Hospital <\/p>\n

Tuch and his wife, Kylie, made a surprise $50,000 donation to the NICU at the Sisters of Charity Hospital<\/a> in Buffalo. The donation was made on behalf of Tuch\u2019s AT9 Foundation. <\/p>\n

News10NBC\u2019s Buffalo affiliate<\/a> reports Alex and Kylie\u2019s son got critical care in the NICU last year. Alex said it was important for them to give back. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis hospital has changed our lives for the better, and we couldn\u2019t even imagine our life without him,\u201d said Tuch. \u201cTo be able to just help a single family is all we\u2019ve wanted to do, so hopefully we help multiple, as many as possible, moving forward.\u201d <\/p>\n

About the AT9 Foundation <\/p>\n

According to the foundation\u2019s website, it is a nonprofit aimed at improving the lives of kids battling cancer and those with special needs. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission is to provide emotional and financial support to families in need, while fostering a sense of hope, strength, and community,\u201d the website states. \u201cThrough fundraising, outreach, and partnerships, we aim to ensure these children receive the care, resources, and opportunities they deserve to thrive despite their challenges.\u201d <\/p>\n

Meet and greet in Victor <\/p>\n

Not long after making the donation, Tuch met some fans at the Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods in Victor Friday night. <\/p>\n

Tuch was greeted by a very long line of fans waiting to take pictures and get his autograph. In fact, so many fans came out to see him, some were turned away. <\/p>\n

Other ways Tuch has given back <\/p>\n

Last December, our Buffalo affiliate<\/a> reported that Tuch gave away toys his foundation gathered throughout the year to the WNY Compassion Connection.<\/a> <\/p>\n

When do the Sabres play next? <\/p>\n

The Sabres head to Chicago Monday to face the Chicago Blackhawks at 8:30 p.m. Then, the team will play their last regular game of the season at home on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars. <\/p>\n
