{"id":551973,"date":"2026-04-13T20:51:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T20:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/551973\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T20:51:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T20:51:14","slug":"chung-selected-to-participate-in-2026-iihf-ice-hockey-womens-world-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/551973\/","title":{"rendered":"Chung Selected to Participate in 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey Women\u2019s World Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                    &#13;<br \/>\n                        Story Links&#13;<br \/>\n                        &#13;<\/p>\n<p>                     BLED, Slovenia \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/keeneowls.com\/sports\/womens-ice-hockey\/roster\/ai-chung\/12095\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12095\" target=\"_blank\">Ai Chung<\/a> of the Keene State College women&#8217;s ice hockey team has recently been named to the Chinese Taipei Women&#8217;s National Ice Hockey Team that is set to compete this week in the 2026 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Ice Hockey Women&#8217;s World Championship for the Women&#8217;s Division II \u2013 Group A.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/keeneowls.com\/sports\/womens-ice-hockey\/roster\/ai-chung\/12095\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12095\" target=\"_blank\">Ai Chung<\/a>, a sophomore goalkeeper from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, has been the Owls&#8217; starting goalkeeper over her first two years in the program&#8217;s history as she has made over 1,000 saves in net for KSC over her first two collegiate years. In the inaugural season of the Little East Conference Chung consistently earned All-Conference honors as she was selected to the inaugural LEC First Team All-Conference to go with her four selections as the LEC Goaltender of the Week over her impressive sophomore season. Across the season for the Owls, Chung made 817 saves in goal, which was the second most in all of NCAA Division III women&#8217;s ice hockey.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n&#8220;I am super proud of Ai and all of her accomplishments for the Owls this season, said Owls&#8217; head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/keeneowls.com\/sports\/womens-ice-hockey\/roster\/coaches\/rob-morgan\/1100\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"1100\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Morgan<\/a>. &#8220;We are all wishing Ai and her team the best at the World Championships as they look to climb the IIHF Rankings!&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0In Chung&#8217;s 22 games in goal for the Owls on the season, Chung averaged 37.14 saves per game with a .932 SV% Of the single game high for saves in the conference on the season, Chung recorded six of the 10 top save games, including an LEC high 68 saves against against Williams College (11\/30\/25), who ranked No. 9 in the USCHO polls prior to the NCAA Tournament.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nChung and her team start up round robin competition against Australia on Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 PM local time, but 1:30 PM EDT, followed by taking on host nation Slovenia on Wednesday at the same times.
