SALT LAKE CITY, Utah \u2014 The Utah Mammoths have clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history after earning a 4-1 victory over the Nashville Predators.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They reach the postseason in just their second year as a franchise.<\/p>\n

Then on Tuesday night, after a strong start, Utah withstood adversity in the third period to beat the Winnipeg Jets, 5-3. The Mammoths\u2019 win, paired with the Anaheim Ducks\u2019 regulation loss, secured the first wild card spot for Utah in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.<\/p>\n

With the 2034 Winter Olympics coming to Salt Lake City, Organizing Committee President and Executive Chair Fraser Bullock said \u201cMammoth fever\u201d can do nothing but help the buildup to the Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we got the Mammoths, I thought, \u2018Wow, that\u2019s a great step up,\u2019\u201d Bullock told KSL News Radio. \u201cBut I had no idea how big it was. Now that it\u2019s happening, now that we\u2019re in the playoffs, it\u2019s far bigger of an impact than I ever anticipated.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Utah becomes the third team in the last 45 years to make the playoffs within its first two years of beginning play, joining the Vegas Golden Knights (2017-18) and Seattle Kraken (2022-23). Among Western Conference teams, the Mammoths (42-30-6, 90 points) have the third-most regulation wins (32) and fourth-highest goal differential (+34).<\/p>\n

Going viral, the 2002 Olympic zamboni has been repurposed as the now world-famous Zammoth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Multiple other NHL teams have reached out to Utah to get in line for the creative engineering squad behind the build to do the same to their home stadium zambonis.<\/p>\n

Following the Wild Card win, fans were invited onto the ice to leave personalized messages with provided paint in a Paint the Ice event.<\/p>\n
