Connor Bedard recorded 2 points.

The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the San Jose Sharks by a final score of 5-2. Louis Crevier’s two tallies led the way for the Blackhawks.

Mr. 75, Connor Bedard

This season has been anything but smooth sailing for Connor Bedard. After starting the year red-hot, Bedard dislocated his shoulder, left off the Olympic team, and worst of all. He had to play with Andre Burakovksy. Despite all of this, Connor Bedard finished the year with 75 points. Smashing his previous career high and cracking over a point-per-game. Tonight he got points 74 and 75.

With the Chicago Blackhawks down 2-1 in the third period, Bedard had to make his impact. Skating up the near side end boards, Bedard let a beautiful backhand saucer pass go. The pass landed on Louis Crevier’s stick, who put it home.

Later, Connor Bedard and Nick Lardis combined for another tally. Bedard finished the year with 45 assists for the Blackhawks.

After the game, Bedard said, “Yeah, y’know that’s what we’re pushing towards. Have confidence in every and every guy.” Clearly, trust is building between Bedsy and his teammates.

Story continues below.

More Sports News

 .wp-block-group__inner-container:has(> .embla),
.wp-block-group:where(.alignfull) > .wp-block-group__inner-container:has(> .embla) {
width: calc(100vw – (var(–side-spacing) * 2)) !important;
}
.embla {
position: relative;
overflow: hidden;
}
.embla__container {
display: flex;
flex-wrap: nowrap;
gap: 0 !important;
width: 75%;
}
.embla__slide {
margin-inline-end: var(–column-gap);
}
.embla__arrow,
.embla__arrow:active,
.embla__arrow:target,
.embla__arrow:hover,
.embla__arrow:focus-visible {
display: none;
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
transform: translateY(-50%);
width: 40px;
height: 40px;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
line-height: 0;
background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.75);
color: var(–color-primary);
border-radius: 100vw;

 svg {
width: 24px;
}
}
.embla__prev {
left: 0;
}
.embla__next {
right: 0;
}

Big Steppa Lou Crevier

When the city needed him most, Louis Crevier delivered more than. The former Quebec Rempart has been a steal in the seventh round. The most consistent Blackhawk by far this year, Crevier capped off his season with two big goals. First, the aforementioned game-tying score.

Later in the period, however, Crevier put the dagger into the Sharks’ hearts. Tyler Bertuzzi worked himself low along the boards and passed the puck to Crevier. When the puck arrived, Crevier let rip a 91 mph slapshot past Yaroslav Askarov into the net.

Chicago’s first star of the night has been one of many players on the young roster to show improvement.

A Silver Lining

This season has been turbulent for the Chicago Blackhawks. And it felt equally crazy covering the team’s games and stories. A young team fired out of the gun in October to a blazing start. Just one point out the playoffs, Hart favorite Connor Bedard and star Frank Nazar both went down for multiple months. In that time, Chicago fell off, but players like Artyom Levshunov, Nick Lardis, and Oliver Moore took the reins.

At the trade deadline, things took a sharp turn. Promising rookie Oliver Moore injured his knee, taking him out for the rest of the year. Veteran defenseman Matt Grzeclyk and former second overall pick Artyom Levshunov were also shut down. On top of the trades of Jason Dickinson, Nick Foligno, and Connor Murphy, the team spiraled. Chicago went just 6-11-4 to end the year. In April, a measly 2-5- 0.

But it’s important to remember that at the beginning of the year. Although key contributors to that start have been lost, the replacements will come in. Roman Kantserov, Sacha Boisvert, Anton Frondell, and AJ Spellacy will all be with either Rockford or Chicago. The return of Oliver Moore and a full season of Nick Lardis will help shore up the cast. A top-4 pick will be openly welcomed into the org this summer.

However, the ball is in Kyle Davidson’s court. The team just extended him on Wednesday. While his leash is longer, results need to start happening. And Fast.

That’s All Folks:

Ladies and gentlemen, hockey fans, and Blackhawks fans.
