This is a headline I have never written before. I cannot express enough how much my heart is bursting with pride and Buffalove doing this post. <\/p>\n
Earlier today the NHL announced the full schedule for the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, and for the first time in the social media era, the Buffalo Sabres are involved. They didn\u2019t sneak in as a WC2 wildcard team that got hot late like we had hoped and prayed they would in a couple of springs over the last decade and a half. Instead more often than not this is the time when we start reading T McGee\u2019s Mock Drafts with renewed interest because our high NHL Entry Draft position was being confirmed. <\/p>\n
But not this year. This season looked like it was headed down the drain early on, but FGMKA Kevyn Adams had to be sacrificed for the Sabres to turn things around and finally buy into Lindy Ruff\u2019s method. And from then on there was no stopping the Sabres as they became the hottest team from Dec 9th (when they were bottom of an incredibly competitive Eastern Conference) onwards. <\/p>\n
In the spell that saw them go from that lowly position to winning the Atlantic Division champions with a game to spare, they went 41-9-4. Just let that sink in. That\u2019s over three wins for every one loss. The disappointing defeat to the Blue Jackets that ended our winning streak was erased by the wild Game of the Season win over the Lightning, clawing the Panthers to start the end of their postseason bid and beating the insufferable Habs in their own barn with just seventeen shots.<\/p>\n
