A lot of people look pissed.<\/p>\n

But first, the Highlights!<\/p>\n

Your TOI Leader was Brandon Montour, who played 21:57.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know what I was expecting, but this was\u2026just pathetic. The Avalanche dressed almost nobody of note and they still absolutely kicked the Kraken up and down the ice. Just an abysmal final showing that was unfortunately emblematic of their last few games of the season; just an unending, crushing letdown.<\/p>\n

The Power play was given a chance to do something! That was nice!<\/p>\n

With the conclusion of the season, the Kraken now have a number of UFAs out on the open market: Bobby McMann, Jaden Schwartz, Eeli Tolvanen, Jamie Oleksiak, and Matt Murray. Of the five\u2026I can confidently say I would want to sign maybe one of them again.<\/p>\n

The Kraken finish their season right where they were last year; out of a playoff spot, woefully ill-equipped to score goals in the goal scoring game, and now entering a period of transition. April 21st was when the Kraken canned Dan Bylsma last year, and if Lane Lambert can survive that deadline, then there\u2019s a chance he\u2019ll be back next season.<\/p>\n

Victor Ostman played his first NHL game and learned in real time what a defeated, broken group of men playing hockey looks like. To his credit, he made 33 saves on 35 shots, and walked away with a .943 SV%. I\u2019m glad he an Nikke got some good work in before heading back to Coachella to play Bakersfield. That\u2019ll help them be ready for another tough playoff series.<\/p>\n

The offseason begins. <\/p>\n

As per usual, we\u2019ll be following up on what the hell happened to the Kraken this season, following Coachella Valley\u2019s playoff push, and of course all of the major offseason events that impact the team.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not gonna lie; this was an odd one. It felt like things were going well enough to maybe squeak in, get blown out of the water by Colorado, then use that as a \u201cWell they can get there but there\u2019s plenty of work to do so let\u2019s get to it\u201d sort of motivation. It would\u2019ve been at least nice to get there. The last two months on the other hand? Just a total f#!king drag. I really thought they had more.<\/p>\n

Hopefully the Kraken learn from this and make some aggressive pushes this offseason. I don\u2019t think they can afford not to.<\/p>\n
