During his time in St. Louis, the team posted an 81-63-20 record and reached the postseason in 2025.

Prior to joining the Blues, Julien held multiple head coaching roles across the league, including stints with the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, and Boston Bruins. He is perhaps best known for his tenure in Boston, where he led the Bruins to a Stanley Cup championship in 2011 and remained behind the bench for nearly a decade.

Weber, 38, was hired by St. Louis in 2023 as part of a younger wave of coaching talent. During his two seasons with the club, the Blues compiled a 124-96-26 regular-season record and also qualified for the playoffs in 2025.

Before joining the NHL ranks, Weber built his coaching resume in the minor and junior leagues. He spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Rochester Americans from 2020 to 2023 and previously worked with the Windsor Spitfires from 2018 to 2020. A former NHL defenseman, Weber brought a player’s perspective to the Blues’ bench, particularly in working with the team’s blue line.

The departures of Julien and Weber signal the start of what could be a significant offseason for the Blues organization. After returning to the playoffs in 2025, expectations have shifted toward building a more consistent contender in the Western Conference.

Discover more from Inside The Rink

Subscribe to get the latest posts sent to your email.

        Joshua Michel

Writer covering the St. Louis Blues | Student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism | Follow me on X for live Blues updates and news: @JoshDMichel

Photo: St. Louis Blues The St. Louis Blues are moving in a new direction behind the bench, announcing…

[5120
71,62758,13391,5,62759,40,4,534,84,5285,5284
0":"post-555530","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-st-louis-blues","8":"tag-blues","9":"tag-claude-julian","10":"tag-coaching-change","11":"tag-hockey","12":"tag-mike-weber","13":"tag-news","14":"tag-nhl","15":"tag-st-louis","16":"tag-st-louis-blues","17":"tag-stlouis","18":"tag-stlouisblues
["GET
