One of the most interesting things happened this season, and it could have some impact on the future.

Known for his playmaking ability and elite passing skill, Robert Thomas led the league in a specific category that is usually held in high regard for the sniping-type. At 24.5%, he led the league in shooting percentage.

Let’s talk about how important that is, and what it means for the future.

24.5 % shooting percentage led the NHL

Edging out Central Division rival Logan Cooley of Utah by a single percent, Thomas’ shooting percentage is an incredible feat. No. 18 scored on all three shots he had in the season finale, giving him a 100% shooting percentage in 5-3 win over said Utah.

Over the course of the season, Thomas scored 25 goals on 102 shots. Those 25 goals were just one shy of tying his career-high of 26, which he set in 2023-24.

Thomas completing his game

Thomas is going to have a lot of additional help in the next few years. We have already seen the emergence of Jimmy Snuggerud and Dalibor Dvorsky, and Justin Carbonneau is going to be a Blue very soon.

But now, Thomas is establishing himself as a player who can score in bunches on his own. He does not have to be a pass-first threat anymore, and can join his highly-scored teammates in goalscoring.

The Blues are going to need this revolution of No. 18 in order to try to compete in the coming years. He can still notch 60+ assists a season, but imagine if he can supplement that with 40+ goals a season as well.

Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow

[5120
71,5,4,534,84,5285,5284
0":"post-555739","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-st-louis-blues","8":"tag-blues","9":"tag-hockey","10":"tag-nhl","11":"tag-st-louis","12":"tag-st-louis-blues","13":"tag-stlouis","14":"tag-stlouisblues
["GET
