Hughes scored the <a href=\"https:\/\/pucksandpitchforks.com\/jack-hughes-scores-the-golden-goal-wins-the-gold-medal-for-team-usa-at-the-winter-olympics\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Golden Goal<\/a>, giving Team USA its first gold medal at the Winter Olympics since the 1980 <a href=\"https:\/\/fansided.com\/2020\/02\/22\/miracle-on-ice-40th-anniversary\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miracle on Ice<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"64\">Moments like that are honored forever. Unfortunately, Jack Hughes wasn\u2019t happy with how his goal is being displayed. He\u2019s upset with the Hockey Hall of Fame, which is housed in Toronto, Canada, for taking the Golden Goal puck and putting it on display. To be fair, we\u2019d rather it be there than on display in the Hughes family\u2019s Michigan basement. Still, we\u2019d much rather the puck be on display in America.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"67\">Will Hughes\u2019s rivalry with the Hockey Hall of Fame ever impact his eligibility? Probably not, but he may not need to worry about it.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6a\">Hughes was named alongside 59 others to be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/pucksandpitchforks.com\/martin-brodeur-named-to-the-hall-of-fame-no-not-that-one-the-new-jersey-hof\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Martin Brodeur was inducted<\/a> alongside the Jonas Brothers, CNN\u2019s Dana Bash, and Hubie Brown. One year later, Hughes can join Brodeur and a list of other Devils legends.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jack Hughes could become a Hall of Famer this year&#8230; a New Jersey Hall of Famer<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-5\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6g\">Hughes is one of 10 sports figures listed as Hall of Fame nominees. Some of the other names include New York Giants legend Victor Cruz, superstar broadcaster Jim Nantz (he grew up in Colts Neck and Marlboro), former New York Jets legend Wayne Chrebet, and original Devils owner Dr. John McMullen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6j\">There are plenty of other nominees, including Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan, Simpsons creator James L. Brooks, author of Eat, Pray, Love Elizabeth Gilbert, and sportswriter Peter King.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6m\">The final inductees will be announced in June, and the 18th Annual New Jersey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in the fall.
