Expected to report to the Bridgeport Islanders for their postseason run, the former third-round pick will miss the remainder of the season, undergoing shoulder surgery.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5q\">The news was announced by the Islanders earlier today, something that came as a bit of a surprise. After inking his <a href=\"https:\/\/eyesonisles.com\/pair-of-ny-islanders-2025-draft-picks-advance-in-the-ohl-playoffs-01kprf7eps4c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">first professional contract<\/a>, Finley himself was excited to begin the next chapter of his hockey career.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5t\">&#8220;I&#8217;m super fortunate to sign with New York,&#8221; Finley said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve dreamed of this as a kid.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5w\">Before inking his deal with the Islanders, Finley led the Badgers in goals with 17, as Wisconsin advanced all the way to the Finals of the NCAA Frozen Four. For a second season in a row, an Islanders prospect fell just short of a National Championship (Cole Eiserman with  Boston University), falling to Denver University in a heartbreaker, 2-1.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Isles?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#Isles<\/a> Injury Update: Quinn Finley had season ending shoulder surgery. Playing against some of the best competition in Europe. Here, Finley registered five points (2 G, 3 A) in five games, losing in the finals to HC Davos.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"65\">Finley is expected to make a full recovery for training camp and will likely start the 2026-27 season with the Islanders&#8217; AHL affiliate as they relocate to Hamilton, ON.
