SHAZIER\u2019S NEW ROLE<\/p>\n
Ryan Shazier played linebacker for the Steelers from 2014 to 2019. However, an unfortunate injury ended his career in 2017. While he tried to make it back on the field, it wasn\u2019t to be. Thankfully, Shazier regained mobility in his legs. He\u2019s not done with football, either. He spent the last few years as a coaching assistant for the Steelers.<\/p>\n
Now, with a new coaching staff in place, Shazier has a new role with the team. He\u2019s no longer a coaching assistant, as he explained in a recent interview on the Faith On The Field Show podcast.<\/a> Shazier now works in player-alumni relations. While he doesn\u2019t go in depth about what he\u2019s doing, he sounds happy to still be working with the team.<\/p>\n PLAYERS AT PENGUINS GAME<\/p>\n The Steelers\u2019 offseason voluntary workouts are ongoing, so many players are back working at the facility. It\u2019s nothing too intricate, but it allows the team to get together.<\/p>\n ESPN\u2019s Brooke Pryor shared on Twitter<\/a> that several Steelers players attended the recent Pittsburgh Penguins game. That includes Will Howard introducing the game and getting the event rolling. While he hasn\u2019t played yet, he has many fans, and the crowd responded well to him. Unfortunately, the Penguins lost, playing about as well in the playoffs as the Steelers have in recent years.<\/p>\n Will \u201cQB1*\u201d Howard handles \u201cit\u2019s hockey night in Pittsburgh\u201d duties ahead of puck drop in Game 2 of Pens-Flyers <\/p>\n TJ Watt, Nick Herbig, Spencer Anderson, Ben Skowronek also among the Steelers at PPG Paints.<\/p>\n *for now? Every NFL team is involved in the draft, and many of them are bringing their former players to announce picks, too.<\/a> That usually leads to some fun moments on stage, with some former players taking the opportunity to troll old rivals.<\/p>\n Former NFL fullback John Kuhn is set to announce the Green Bay Packers\u2019 Day 2 picks. Kuhn played for the Packers from 2007 to 2015, winning a Super Bowl with them. That game was against the Steelers, and Kuhn was recently asked on The Tundra podcast if<\/a> he would troll Pittsburgh. However, Kuhn said he doubts he\u2019ll do that, as he\u2019s from the Pittsburgh area and played for the Steelers for a few years.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
