The Utah Mammoth<\/a> unraveled in the third period of their Game 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs loss<\/a> versus the Vegas Golden Knights<\/a>, but they refused to buckle in Game 2. Logan Cooley<\/a> scored the franchise\u2019s first-ever postseason goal<\/a> this past Sunday, and on Tuesday, he lifted the franchise to its first-ever postseason victory<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old center scored off a deflection with just six minutes remaining in the final period, allowing Utah to snatch a 3-2 victory from Vegas inside T-Mobile Arena. When the Mammoth compete in their first home playoff game this Friday night, they will do so with a ton of confidence following this successful showing in The Entertainment Capitol of the World.<\/p>\n

Salt Lake City\u2019s Delta Center will be rocking for that Western Conference collision. When the Arizona Coyotes\u2019 players and assets were sold to Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith in April of 2024, there was hope that a new passionate NHL fan base would emerge. That is exactly what has happened during the Mammoth\u2019s nascent existence, and it will be evident in Game 3.<\/p>\n

This assimilation period is going swimmingly, but Utah hockey can truly rise if it upsets the Golden Knights<\/a> in the first round of the playoffs. Offense has been hard to come by thus far, and that could continue as the series progresses, but the home crowd could be a mighty powerful motivator.<\/p>\n
