And that’s important for us,” the 27-year-old told reporters afterwards, per ESPN’s Kristen Shilton. “We thought we had a really good chance to finish it out last game, too. So, I think that we fixed a lot of great things and took positives and really stayed in the moment. That’s the biggest thing for our group.”

After allowing Buffalo to score three goals in a span of four and a half minutes in Game 1 — en route to a 4-3 victory — Boston were able to hold off another late rally in Western New York this time around.

Leading 3-0 heading into the third period, Viktor Arvidsson scored his second of the game just 16 seconds into the final frame. The Bruins wouldn’t look back from there, although the Sabres got goals from Bowen Byram and Peyton Krebs late in regulation.

“They played their way. They played to our identity,” head coach Marco Sturm said of his team. “Let’s put it that way. That was Bruins hockey from start to finish and why we put them away. We played more physical. That’s something they wanted to do and get better on our forecheck, but also protecting a little bit more … and be a bit more aggressive.”

It was another exciting tilt between two incredibly evenly matched teams — with no shortage of physicality and intensity — but it was the Bruins getting the better of their Atlantic Division rivals on Tuesday night.

The series now shifts to Massachusetts, with Game 3 set for Thursday at TD Garden in Boston. After missing out on the postseason altogether in 2024-25, it figures to be a raucous crowd welcoming the B’s home.

Puck is set to drop on Bruins-Sabres just past 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday night.

After suffering a brutal collapse in Game 1, the Boston Bruins clamped down 48 hours later, beating the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 to steal home-ice advantage and even their first-round series at a game apiece at the KeyBank Center on Tuesday night.
