Devils co-owner David Blitzer \u201cpromised to provide the resources that will allow Mehta to spend to the salary cap as a perennial contender,\u201d but there is \u201cplenty on Mehta\u2019s to-do list.\u201d Mehta promised a \u201cthorough assessment of all players, coaches and staff.\u201d He noted that \u201cno decisions have been made on any of their statuses moving forward\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/sports\/2026\/04\/devils-introduce-poker-playing-gm-who-embraces-chance-to-turn-franchise-around-no-ones-happy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Newark STAR-LEDGER, 4\/21<\/a>).
