Jessica Campbell, a proud product of Rocanville, will be exploring new opportunities across the National Hockey League as her contract with the Seattle Kraken comes to an end.<\/p>\n
The Kraken made the announcement Thursday, noting their support for Campbell as she looks to continue her coaching career elsewhere in the league.<\/p>\n
General manager Jason Botterill praised Campbell\u2019s impact on the organization, highlighting her ability to develop players and build relationships inside the room.<\/p>\n
Campbell\u2019s rise has been nothing short of historic. In 2024, she became the first full-time female assistant coach in NHL history to work behind the bench during the regular season a milestone that resonated far beyond Seattle and into rinks across Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n
Before earning her spot with the Kraken, Campbell spent two seasons with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds. During that time, she helped guide the Firebirds to back-to-back Calder Cup Final appearances, quickly establishing herself as one of the game\u2019s rising coaching minds.<\/p>\n
For those back home in Rocanville and across the province, Campbell\u2019s journey has been a point of pride from small-town Saskatchewan roots to breaking barriers at hockey\u2019s highest level.<\/p>\n
