The <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/tag\/detroit-lions\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"133\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">Detroit Lions<\/a> were close to making the 2023 Super Bowl and had one of the best teams during the 2024-25 NFL season. Meanwhile, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/tag\/detroit-pistons\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"900\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">Detroit Pistons<\/a> had the best record in the Eastern Conference during the 2025-26 NBA season. Now, the city could be landing All-Star Games.<\/p>\n<p>The Pistons and Red Wings are having ongoing conversations about a future NBA and NHL All-Star Game in Detroit, Michigan, as <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JeremyOttoPxP\/status\/2049962315114541087\/video\/1?s=46\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">reported by Detroit Sports Commission executive director Marty Dobek to Jeremy Otto<\/a>. The city hasn\u2019t hosted an All-Star Game since MLB came to Comerica Park in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the last time Detroit hosted an NBA All-Star Game was 1979 at the Pontiac Silverdome. Finally, the last NHL All-Star Game hosted in Detroit was on February 5, 1980, at the Joe Louis Arena. Needless to say, the city hasn\u2019t been a very popular destination for All-Star Games during the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>The Pistons are looking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/sports\/nba\/pistons\/2025\/06\/05\/detroit-pistons-looking-to-host-nba-all-star-game-in-2029-or-2030\/84054297007\/?gnt-cfr=1&amp;gca-cat=p&amp;gca-uir=false&amp;gca-epti=z1124xxp000150c000150u117733e1124xxv003233&amp;gca-ft=167&amp;gca-ds=sophi\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">host the NBA All-Star Game in either 2029 or 2030<\/a>, which would celebrate the \u201cBad Boys\u201d era of basketball. Little Caesars Arena would love to host an All-Star Game, but it has to make sense for the NBA or NHL. The Red Wings may have more difficulty, as the NHL All-Star Game isn\u2019t an annual event at this point.<\/p>\n<p>Detroit deserves to host an All-Star Game soon. It has been over 20 years since Comerica Park hosted the 2005 MLB All-Star Game. The city is on the rise in sports, and the fans have been very passionate.
