Los Angeles Kings GM Ken Holland revealed that he will be searching for a new head coach for next season. Though he’ll be looking at a variation of candidates with different levels of experience, here are three veteran coaches who should be on his list.<\/p>\n

For you, when you look at this, what has to change for the next coming years for this LA Kings team?<\/p>\n

Yeah.<\/p>\n

Initially, I was gonna say like, “Ah, they should, they should rebuild.”<\/p>\n

But then it’s like well, no, they have Panarin, and they just got him.<\/p>\n

Fiala was absent, which was obviously huge.<\/p>\n

but now you do have to fill the hole of Anze Kopitar’s retirement.<\/p>\n

And, you know, Quinton Byfield is the most obvious candidate because he is a center, he is big.<\/p>\n

He’s been sort of, you know, mentored by Kopitar over the years.<\/p>\n

Is he ready to take that next step?<\/p>\n

I guess we’ll see.<\/p>\n

but I think for the Kings, it’s gonna be a big summer.<\/p>\n

They have to figure out, like, do we push to the next level?<\/p>\n

Like, do we bring in somebody else?<\/p>\n

can we find somebody else to be a top six center that can bolster what our wingers can do?<\/p>\n

Or do they say, “You know what?<\/p>\n

W- we gotta take a step back.<\/p>\n

you know, we gotta get more young guys in this lineup.<\/p>\n

We gotta get faster.”<\/p>\n

It’s gonna be very interesting.<\/p>\n

I, I do not envy their brain trust right now because they’re in a tough spot.<\/p>\n
