With the 2025\u201326 season complete, members of the Belleville Senators are taking time to reflect on the year that was, both individually and as a group. Each of our 2026 Exit Interviews highlights a player\u2019s season, some of their favourite moments off the ice, and their plans heading into the summer.<\/p>\n
Rookie defender Carter Yakemchuk proved why he was worthy of his seventh overall selection by Ottawa in the 2024 National Hockey League Entry Draft. In his first professional season, the Fort McMurray, Alberta native tallied 38 points for Belleville and was among the top-scoring rookies and defenders in the American Hockey League. Yakemchuk also made big strides in his defensive game, earning himself his first NHL recall, where he notched a goal and an assist over four games played with Ottawa.<\/p>\n
