He will be paid $6.5 million over the next two seasons. Liljegren, who celebrated his 27th birthday in April, joined the Capitals from San Jose at the trade deadline. In Washington, the Swedish native made only four appearances, but he could have a significant role in 2026-27. The Capitals have lost a key piece on the back end with John Carlson moving to Washington, and Rasmus Sandin (knee) won&#8217;t be available at the start of the season.
