Boston Bruins<\/a> legend Patrice Bergeron was named as one of the eight newest inductees into the IIHF Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

The International Ice Hockey Federation inducted six players \u2014 Andres Amb\u00fchl, Patrice Bergeron, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Niklas Kronwall, Florence Schelling, and Thomas Vanek \u2014 and two builders, Ralph Krueger and Luc Tardif, to the Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Tardif, the IIHF President, opened up the ceremony and was ecstatic with the class.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always good to see that the Hall of Fame also needs a community around its members; coaches, teachers, and others. Here they can say thank you to everyone,\u201d Tardif said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bergeron\u00a0made IIHF history already as a teenager when he won a World Championship in 2004 before winning World Junior Championship gold in 2005.\u00a0He also won Olympic Gold in 2010 and 2014, as well as World Cup Gold in 2016, and won the Spengler Cup in 2012.<\/p>\n

The Bruins legend was also the 25th member of the Triple Gold Club, which is Olympic Gold, World Championship Gold, and winning a Stanley Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not about me, it\u2019s about all the people who\u2019ve supported me along the way,\u201d Bergeron said. \u201cHockey is the ultimate team game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bergeron played his entire career with the Bruins after being selected 45th overall in 2003 by Boston. He skated in 1,294 games, recording 427 goals and 613 assists for 1,040 points. He helped Boston win the Stanley Cup in 2011.<\/p>\n
