The Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> are urged to make a bold move to acquire a star center to bolster the lineup.<\/p>\n

Detroit Red Wings<\/a> captain and first-line center Dylan Larkin<\/a> has reportedly requested a trade after the team failed to make the postseason again. With Larkin requesting a trade, several teams will be after him, as he\u2019s a perfect second-line center on a Stanley Cup-winning team.<\/p>\n

Following Larkin\u2019s trade request, Penguins analyst Josh Yohe believes Pittsburgh acquiring him makes a lot of sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Penguins are looking for an impactful forward, preferably a young one,\u201d Yohe wrote<\/a>. \u201cThey have an enormous amount of cap space. They have draft picks and prospects to offer, too. Larkin isn\u2019t a youngster, but I still think he makes a lot of sense for the Penguins. I\u2019d be surprised if Kyle Dubas doesn\u2019t inquire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Larkin has five years left on an eight-year, $69.6 million deal, as he\u2019s owed just $8.7 million per season, which is a reasonable cap hit.<\/p>\n

The Olympic gold medalist would be Pittsburgh\u2019s second-line center and add some more depth to the forward group. With the Penguins bringing back Evgeni Malkin<\/a> and still having Sidney Crosby<\/a> on the roster, the time to win is now, so a trade for Larkin does make sense for Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Larkin recorded 34 goals and 33 assists for 67 points in 74 games and is a star shutdown centerman.<\/p>\n
