Brendan Gallagher is beginning to take shape, as Arpon Basu has identified the most likely options for the Canadiens veteran.

The journalist spoke with the man himself.

A conversation with number 11 that sheds light on Gallagher’s priorities moving forward.

One thing became very clear.

Gallagher wants to play somewhere that allows him to take care of his family.

That criterion significantly reduces the number of options.

Brendan Gallagher changes his mind and expands his options

Arpon Basu summed up the situation simply.

Brendan Gallagher’s next destination will either be near Montreal or in Vancouver.

The logic behind those choices is clear.

His wife is from Montreal, while Gallagher himself is from Vancouver.

Vancouver emerges as the leading destination for Brendan Gallagher

That reality makes things a little more complicated for the Canadiens.

The list of teams located near Montreal or Vancouver is not unlimited.

A few markets fit those criteria.

Notably Ottawa, Toronto, Buffalo, Calgary, Seattle, and Edmonton come to mind.

But one destination remains the most logical.

The Vancouver scenario therefore remains the preferred one.

You can watch Basu’s interview with Gallagher here:

Where will the veteran ultimately end up?

We can’t wait to find out!

At 34 years old and nearing the end of his career, Gallagher clearly wants to finish things the right way.

And between Vancouver and a market near Montreal, his choice appears to be made.
