According to TSN\u2019s Darren Dreger<\/a>, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Carl Grundstr\u00f6m<\/a> to a one-year, $1MM contract for the 2026-27 season. Grundstr\u00f6m was poised to become an unrestricted free agent tomorrow after his two-year, $3.6MM contract, originally signed with the San Jose Sharks, finally ended.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia acquired Grundstr\u00f6m shortly before the beginning of the 2025-26 season. Having no spot in the Sharks\u2019 lineup, he was included as a salary filler when San Jose took on defenseman Ryan Ellis<\/a>\u2018 contract for the Flyers.<\/p>\n

A bottom-six forward, Grundstr\u00f6m held down a steady spot toward the bottom of the Flyers forward corps for much of the season. In 47 games, the 28-year-old winger scored nine goals and 13 points with a +7 rating, averaging 11:51 of ice time.<\/p>\n

Despite nearly reaching the multi-goal plateau, Grundstr\u00f6m was far more relied upon for his physical prowess. He ranked third on the team in hits (139) and third on the team in on-ice SV% at even strength for those who appeared in 40 or more contests.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Grundstr\u00f6m managed to play in a handful of games with the AHL\u2019s Lehigh Valley Phantoms throughout the 2025-26 campaign. He had much better offensive totals, as expected, finishing with six goals and 15 points in 19 games with a +5 rating.
