We have two new signings to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization.<\/p>\n

Two genuinely intense players.<\/p>\n

The Laval Rocket is keeping two of its loyal veterans.<\/p>\n

Vincent Arseneau and Xavier Simoneau are back for one more season, and it’s very good news.<\/p>\n

The club officially announced both deals over the past few hours… One-year, one-way contracts for the two Quebec-born forwards!<\/p>\n

“The boys are back!<\/p>\n

The Rocket have agreed to terms on a one-year, one-way AHL contract with forwards Vincent Arseneau and Xavier Simoneau”<\/p>\n

Two very different player profiles, but two extremely intense competitors on the ice.<\/p>\n

Two Quebec-born players remain with the Montreal Canadiens’ farm team<\/p>\n

Arseneau is the powerhouse of the duo.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-2 left-shot forward weighs 231 pounds and never backs down from a challenge.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old veteran is coming off his second season in Laval, where he scored five goals in 22 games last season.<\/p>\n

A native of the Magdalen Islands, he has built a long professional career.<\/p>\n

Arseneau has appeared in 319 professional games.<\/p>\n

Simoneau, meanwhile, is a 5-foot-7 forward who relies on his speed and relentless compete level. But he is also surprisingly tough for his size.<\/p>\n

The Saint-Andr\u00e9-Avellin native has a special connection to Montreal.<\/p>\n

The Canadiens selected him in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

Simoneau recorded 12 points in 43 games last season. Over four seasons in the organization, he has totaled 108 points in 216 games.<\/p>\n

These are two very solid signings for the Montreal Canadiens organization and for the team’s overall depth.<\/p>\n
