COLUMBUS, Ohio \u2014\u00a0The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed goalie Sergei Ivanov to a two-year contract.<\/p>\n
He is expected to finish out the 2026-2027 season in the Kontinental Hockey League before coming to the U.S.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are thrilled to sign Sergei to an entry-level contract,\u201d said General Manager Don Waddell. \u201cHe possesses great quickness and agility, along with sound positional play, and has performed exceptionally well as a very young goaltender in the KHL over the past four seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old goalie was taken by the Blue Jackets in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL draft. He posted a 24-50-8 record with a 2.65 goals-against average, a .923 save percentage and eight shutouts in his time with SKA St. Petersburg during 2022.<\/p>\n
